Trade from the Charts
The default configuration of the detailed chart portrait mode displays trade buttons on the bottom display area instead of an indicator (see Chart Settings). This enables you to trade from the live streaming charts.
Place a Trade from the Chart
To place a trade from the chart:
- Tap the Quantity field and enter the amount you want to trade.
- Now tap the [Sell] or [Buy] button as appropriate for the trade direction you wish to initiate.
- The Trade view appears. You can at this time enter a take profit Limit order or a protective stop loss in the Limit and Stop fields as desired. Alternatively, you can attach these orders after your trade is placed (see Attach a Closing Order). If you enter a Stop order, you can choose to make it a Guaranteed order. This means that for a small fee your stop order is protected against the risk of market gaps. Tap the [i] icon to see a pop-up showing the charge for the guaranteed order. (This check box can only be ticked for markets that support guaranteed orders.)
- You can see how much margin is required for the trade by tapping the [Calculate Margin] button. Tap [OK] to dismiss the Margin Calculator view.
- You can elect to make the trade a hedge trade by tapping the Hedge checkbox so that it is ticked. This means that a new trade in the opposite direction of an existing trade will open as a new hedging trade. It will not offset any other trades in the same market.
- Check the trade details are correct and tap [Trade] to submit the trade for processing.
- A trade confirmation appears showing the trade details. Tap [OK] to close the message.
Tapping the [Order] button reveals the Order view where you can place a new entry order. See Place a New Opening Order for instructions on how to place a new entry order.
